They seem to remove these movies pretty fast when there is a notice of copyright Infringement. Why is the Internet Archive giving indivuals such a hard time when they ask for something to be removed? All I have gotten is evasive, unclear, contradictory and incomplete reponses. From what I understand Internet Archive won't accept a copyright notice placed on a web page as good enough notice.

Tth notice at says the "Internet Archive has no interest in including materials in the Wayback Machine of persons who do not wish to have their Web content archived." I can say that in my case this statement is not true and I see other similar complaints.

Are you talking about movies or the website archive?

If it's about websites, this is the wrong forum. But ...

Asking the archive to remove your site is the same as asking google not to index your site. It is an automated process that you can opt out of. You just modify your robots.txt file

Read how to do it here:

The only problem would be that if the archive spider is no longer going out archiving sites, I guess maybe that procedure won't remove you. I'm not sure, but I think about a year or two ago sites weren't being archived for awhile. I don't know what's going on now.
